Every time we watch a movie and see some actor skiing, skydiving, scuba diving or surfing we feel like doing the same but the only problem is that we don’t have much places in India where we can enjoy these activities completely. Most of the adventure sports in India are tandem based and the tandem has complete control over your adrenaline. So these are 12 places & 12 adventure sports in India where you can learn these activities and enjoy most of these activities tandem free.
Paragliding in Bir-Billing, Himachal Pradesh
Bir-Billing became popular after the Paragliding worldcup was held in 2015, it is declared as the second best place for paragliding in world. Bir is the best place in India for Paragliding and you can enjoy long flights ranging from 15-30 mins. If you have the passion of flying the paraglider yourself you can attend a 2 week program and have complete control over your flight.

Skiing in Auli Ski School, Uttarakhand
Auli in Garhwal Himalyas is an emerging skiing spot and soon will be rated as one of the best in the world. Once the training grounds for the Paramilitary forces, it was adjudged by the French and Austrian experts who compared it with the best skiing grounds of the world and rated it as one of the best.
You can enjoy skiing and snowboarding courses in Auli from the month of January to mid april. The basic ski course is for a week, once you complete the basic ski course you can come again for advanced ski course of 2 weeks. February is the best time when the snow is fresh and settled.
Scuba Diving and Snorkeling , Havelock Island, Andaman.
Havelock island is one of the best places in India to experience the under-water flora & fauna. Diving into the exotic coral reef near Havelock islands is an experience you won’t forget in your lifetime. You can choose to enjoy the dive for a single day or get a beginners certification in 4 days.
Best time to visit Andamans is from November to mid may.
Kayaking in Allepey, Kerela.
The backwaters of Allepey are famous for its Houseboat stays but kayaking is a totally different experience. You will be kayaking through the narrow canals, meeting and observing people from the backwater villages and get lost in the beauty of nature. You can book a 4, 7 or 10 hr kayak trip in which you will be accompanied by a guide and a mechanised shikara at different point so that you can rest if you want.
Atv & off roading in Manali
While Atv rides are available at many places in India, riding an Atv at Alternate terrain on the banks of river Beas on a 14 km off road trail through the forests is a next level experience. Situated in Patlikuhl, this place is 17 kms from Manali and offers different mean machines ranging from 90cc-500cc. You will get a 5min introductory lesson followed by the ride of your choice accompanied by an instructor, this is a perfect activity for a group of adrenaline junkies.

Mountain Biking in Leh
While most of the places experience monsoon and summer vacations, Leh is your go to place because it is a rainshadow area,which means it experiences less rainfall. Leh is considered as the paradise for mountain bikers, you bike down the highest motorable road in Khardungla, bike alongside the pangong lake, zanskar river and accompanying you will be the clear blue skies & clouds trying to overtake you.

Skydiving in Mysore
Falling from the sky at a speed of 180kmph for 15 secs and then flying like a bird for another 15 mins is not something meant for the faint hearted people. So if you are one of those brave hearted people then start saving some part of your monthly income coz this doesn’t come cheap, a single tandem jump will cost you upwards of 30k while a solo jump course will be 2.5 lacs.
Surfing In Covelong Point,Chennai
Being the first surfing village in India, this place is becoming the first preference of surfers in South India. It organises an international surf festival which attracts people across the globe which includes food, music, yoga & cash prizes. River Rafting in Rishikesh
Rishikesh the Yoga capital of india is also famous for white water rafting on Ganga, the holy river also called the mother goddess. Rafting followed by a stay in a riverside camp is a perfect adventure that in no time can become your addiction. Rafting on some of the best stretches of Ganga will give you the best adrenaline rush of your lifetime.
The best time for rafting is post monsoons but avoid Dec-Feb as the water is very cold.
Wake Boarding in Goa
Wake boarding is a combination of surfing, snowboarding and water skiing and is slowly gaining popularity in India. It requires the art of balance and body angels like surfing but the added speed and thrill is the reason it is becoming popular.
Caving in Meghalaya
Out of the Ten longest and deepest caves in India, Nine are in Meghalaya. Caving is an activity in which we explore the insides of the cave and what better place than Meghalaya, where we get the opportunity to explore live caves, meaning we have to cross waist deep water or swim to navigate the caves.
Winters are the best time for caving when the water level is lowest and it is easy to navigate from some of the longest caves.
